NCARS #3:
This premier, unsupported race is designed to challenge you at any level.
The 24 hour race is part of the Checkpoint Tracker Series and is a qualifier for Nationals.
The 12 hour and 6 hour race courses are stunning beautiful and best appreciated in the daylight. August is an ideal time. This wilderness terrain is ideal for those who like to push themselves.
Frankly, we do not expect many teams to complete the full course. The terrain in this course area includes over 5000 vertical feet and hundreds of miles miles of singletrack. Linville Gorge is the largest canyon in the East, and the wilderness area is spectacular. Lake James is pristine. You racers requested this course area, so here you go- a new location!
5th year event, benefit for Diabetes, fee includes online registration and canoe rental.
Activities include flatwater canoeing, rappelling, mountain biking, orienteering, wilderness trail running, and special challenges. There is simply no better way to explore this rugged corner of Pisgah. Anyone in reasonable health should have a great time. Bring your friends and colleagues.
